Be Strong and Courageous
Joshua 1:5 and again in Hebrews 13:5, God speaks to us and says, “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
I believe that sometimes we ask God for answers or we ask God for things that are so big only God can do it, but then we forget to open our hearts and minds to God’s vision for our life.
Joshua knew God’s vision, yet he was following a tough act, Moses. Throughout Joshua, “Be strong and Courageous”, shows up many times, because Joshua was scared of failing. God wanted him to know, just like with Moses, he would always be there for him. God used these words to encourage him and then uses them again in Hebrew to encourage us.
I believe for me I am asking for God’s help with my life, to make some tough decisions that will affect more people than just me. I want it to be His will, I want it to be right, but I am looking for all the answers, all before I jump completely out in faith. The thing is all God needs is all we have. No more, no less. We just need to give it to him and pray about the things we are letting hold us back.
Today I think God answered a prayer, in the most inconvenient way possible. The question now is how am I going to commit to seize the vision God has for my life and stop trying to have all the answers first or am I going to continue to be afraid of failing and not listen to the words, “ I will never leave you or forsake you”? I choose to give it all to him, even if all I have is little, even the things that are holding me back. Will you?
